Punch Taverns, the UK’s leading pub company based here in Burton, has kicked off 2010 by donating £500 from its Punch Community Spirit Project to the Gresley Rovers under 11s football team.

The Gresley Rovers needed new equipment so that the team could start the 2010 season in style. With the £500 donation, they can now buy better goal posts, new footballs and a smart new kit!

Ade Haywood, the team’s coach, says: “We’re over the moon to have got this funding. It’s going to make such a difference to the lad’s and means we can upgrade our training sessions with lots of nice new kit. We’re so thankful, we didn’t even mind turning out in the freezing snow to meet the guys from Punch! Thanks a million.”
